Fugu Jailbreak

This is the first open source jailbreak tool based on the checkm8 exploit developed by LinusHenze. However, this was only available for developers. It is possible to install Sileo or Cydia. Currently, the iPad Pro (2017) is the only officially supported device and iPhone 7 is in testing. This is very similar to the Checkra1n jailbreak. Hence, Checkm8 is an unpatchable hardware exploit, Fugu Jailbreak can be developed for iOS 14 / iOS 14.0.1 / iOS 14.1.

Pangu Jailbreak

The most popular Pangu jailbreak team has demonstrated iOS 14 at Mosec 2020. Min (Spark) Zheng (@SparkZheng) has published one of the images via his official twitter account to prove the iOS 14 jailbreak demo with Pangu.

Most probably, the Pangu team will not publish the Pangu jailbreak for iOS 14 to the public just like previous jailbreak attempt. Last time Pangu proved the iOS 12 jailbreak possibility with Pangu by jailbreaking iPhone XS running iOS 12. However, they didn't publicize it.

iOS 14 Jailbreak achieved by Pangu team. iOS 14 GM version Pwned by Pangu team memberTielei (@WangTielei) This was announced by Zheng who is behind many jailbreak exploits. However, the Pangu team never released the exploit to the public after iOS 9 Jailbreak. So, we can not expect Pangu iOS 14 jailbreak from them. However, it seems iOS 14 is vulnerable, so we have a hope for iOS 14 Jailbreak, another jailbreak tool.

Luca Todesco ( @qwertyoruiopz ) hinted something about the new iOS 14 jailbreak. Still there is not much information about that. However, he clearly mentioned this not about Checkra1n. Maybe it is about seprom exploits based on the unpatchable SEP vulnerability demonstrated on MOSEC 2020 by the Pangu team. It seems like a collaboration project with @s1guzan & Pangu team.

Osiris Jailbreak

This is an incomplete jailbreak for iOS 12 – iOS 12.1.2. A famous Jailbreak developer GeoSn0w developed this using the tfp0 exploit. Always, he comes up once new iOS releases. So, it might update osiris or another new Jailbreak tool for iOS 14 Jailbreak.

iOS 14 Jailbreak Status

How to upgrade iPhone to iOS 14.3 from iOS 14.1 – iOS 14 without SHSH Blobs

Now Apple is no longer signing iOS 14.3. So, there is a new method to upgrade to iOS 14.3 from iOS 14.1 – iOS 14. Follow the below guide.

Step 01 – First you need to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad using Checkra1n, unc0ver or Taurine. If your device is already jailbroken, restore the RootFS and re-jailbreak it again.

Step 02 – Now open Cydia or Sileo on your iPhone. Add this repo: myxxdev.github.io and install the MyBloXXX tweak from repo

Step 03 – Install the iOS developer profile on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 04 – Finally, the iOS 14.3 OTA update will show on your device. Use the Restore RootFS option in Unc0ver, Taurine or Checkra1n jailbreak app. Then began to install the iOS 14.3 OTA update on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 05 – Once the iOS 14.3 update is installed, it will erase all contents on your iPhone or iPad. Now you can jailbreak iOS 14.3 using Unc0ver, Checkra1n or Taurine.

iOS 14 comes with advanced security features. Apple always wanted to prevent Jailbreak on Apple devices. Accordingly, iOS 14 Jailbreak (software based) will be very hard. Apple put all effort into releasing iOS 14 with minimum vulnerabilities as usual. Also, Apple added a new mitigation to SEPOS on A10 and above devices on iOS 14. So, it needed more work to be done for hardware based checkra1n too to add iOS 14 support on A10 & above devices too.

On the other hand iOS 14 online Jailbreak is another big challenge.

Online Jailbreak challenge

Currently Zeon is an online Jailbreak solution for iOS 14 & higher versions.

Semi-untethered tools such as unc0ver most probably Windows, Mac or Linux based Jailbreak.

Apple is always blocking Jailbreak Plist (IPA's that can be downloaded online.) So, online iOS 14 Semi-untethered tools will not be released or if anybody releases iOS 14 online Unc0ver or any other IPA, Apple may block it within a few days.

Checkra1n is also computer based Jailbreak and they are not attending for Online Jailbreak. Even Checkra1n official Windows support is also pending for previous iOS versions too.

Security researcher, Pattern-f (@pattern_F_) demonstrated a LPE exploit on iOS 14.1 running iPhone 12. The Speciality of this news is the lack of A12 & A13 devices jailbreak. So, this can be used to develop potential iOS 14 jailbreak for iPhone 11 or iPhone 12.

Also, this will work up to iOS 14 – iOS 14.3, because this jailbreak is based on the 0-day exploit and it makes the operating system panic due to Apple's exploit mitigation system. This was released to prevent developing a jailbreak tool using these vulnerabilities. Pattern-f is trying to bypass at this point.
